Biography

Shri Kaulacharya Rajendranand Teerth is now a name that needs no introduction in New York. With chaos, uncertainty, unhappiness, sorrow, suffering & ignorance reigning the world of 'today', we need spiritual leaders like him to spread the message of love, peace, compassion and friendship and to help eradicate separatism, intolerance and hatred. It was his dream to have a Common Community Center, where people of all races and faith could gather and experience peace and love. He is ardently involved in Community Services through his personal and institutional resources, thus benefiting thousands of people of different faith, origin and races. Apart from his spiritual calling, he is also an astrologer by profession. He provides exclusive services for students such as: homework help, after-school classes and basic computer classes. He offers expert advice on family and personal problems, yoga and meditation classes, etc. He promotes the culture and heritage of India, by organizing several cultural programs for children to exhibit their talents. Guruji, has he is fondly called, has opened a free kitchen at the temple (Neelkanth Dham Temple) that provides rich, nutritious and fresh vegetarian food, snacks, tea, and coffee, all 7 days of the week. He ensures free distribution of food and water to thousands of people on 'India Day Parade' and 'Vaisakhi' celebrations every year. Guruji is frequently invited to deliver his enlightened discourses at the highest, political, social and spiritual platforms. People admire him for his broad mindedness and contemporary ideas. He devotes at least twelve to sixteen hours every day for social welfare causes and has become a role model for others to follow. He is tirelessly working towards world peace, non-violence and harmony. Sacrificing his personal life's pleasures, this great man has contributed significantly towards uniting the South Asian Community, definitely making the world a better place to live in.

Press/Media

Neelkanth Dham Temple Though the place is a temple, abode to the Hindu Gods and Goddess, it is in true spirit an Interfaith Community Center. If you happen to visit the place any time, any day, you will find every section of population represented among the devotees, including Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Muslims, Chinese, Caribbean, Hispanic and African Americans. There is an atmosphere of joy and spiritual tranquility. This is because this place belongs to everyone. In spite of several obstacles, from the time that Guruji fondled the dream of a Common Community Center until its completion, the center came into being, eventually. Some of the people who helped accomplish the task of building this Community Center were: Sardar Mastan Singh and his wife Jasbir Kaur, Sardar Amarjit Singh Multani and his wife, Rahman Sipra, Sucha Singh and his wife Baljit Kaur, Hitesh Shah, Hemant Kumar, Norma and David, Rahul Dev Singh, Minesh Patel, Narender S. Kesar, Manjit Kaur, Jaya Singh, Guruji Himself and several other devotees. The Murti-Sthapana ceremony was done as per the scriptures. The Murtis or Idols have been custom-made with a specific meaning asinine to each aspect. The selection of material, color posture, size and expression, symbolize special attributes of the Lords. The Annadhivaas Pooja was also followed, in which the Idols were kept in bags full of wheat and barley for fifteen days. They were brought home with their faces covered with flower strings like bridegrooms. The devotees carried them on special palanquins. Everyone from anywhere were invited to partake in these solemn events. Guruji banishes all superstitions about certain times and people not capable of doing worship. He is against dogmas and explains each and everything in a scientific language so that everything makes sense. Community Langer (food) is served everyday – every time with great love and devotion. The food is excellent. This Temple bears the distinction of being the only one to have a stall at the India Day Parade for free food. This year he has taken the responsibility of total cleaning during and after the function along with ‘free food stall’ over the year.
